Council Precept & Budget

Each year Clifton Community Council sets a budget for the year ahead this is used to set the council Precept, this is the amount Clifton Community Council asks from Westmorland and Furness Council as a prersentage of the Council Tax paid by householders of the Clifton Community Council area. Clifton Community Council uses the precept, to provide services and deliver for our community.

2026/27 BUDGET

Clifton Community Council approved a budget for the year commencing on 1 April 2026 and set a precept of £15,680.25 to fund delivery of Council services for our community. The precept based on the tax base figures provided to Clifton Community Council by Westmorland and Furness Council for the 2026/27 council tax precept setting means the precept amount should result in a 0% increase for households in the community for Clifton Community Councils precept.
